Founded in 2016, we are a student-run, non-profit and non-biased society with the ambition of helping the veterinary students of tomorrow. From speaking to current students and applicants, there is a reoccurring theme of a lack of support and guidance for veterinary applicants from schools and other entry routes. We aspire to fill this gap in knowledge and support!
What do we do?
Our website showcases a realistic idea of what the course and career possibilities entail and provides easy to follow assistance for prospective students. Topics such as interview technique, work experience requirements and personal statements are explained with context. Additionally, we visit primary and secondary schools where we deliver interactive talks focused on dispelling the myths surrounding the profession and educating students and staff in an engaging way! Through attending open days and recruiting ambassadors from several vet schools we hope to widen the awareness for this resource and to continue to develop it.
How to join?
We need you! There are numerous opportunities for Vet students to get involved, either as an ambassador, as a member of our Committee or simply to share your animal pictures and stories! Please get in contact via emailing: educatingvet@outlook.com or our social media (Facebook, Instagram and Twitter)!
