The Veterinary Confessionals Project is a worldwide initiative based on anonymous submissions and responses that attempts to break down the stigma of sharing and the culture of perfectionism in the veterinary community. At Liverpool, we have an offshoot of the Peer Support team that monitor submissions and manage the noticeboards.
We run two student boards, one in Liverpool and Leahurst, and we hope to get a board for the veterinary staff at Leahurst as well. Submissions are made via an online form, or via a postbox near the relevant board, and can be regarding anything e.g. a bad day, concerns over career progression, humorous or otherwise significant cases… the list is endless. These submissions must not identify anyone or any company etc, and are posted on the noticeboards. Once up, people can post responses to these submissions, still anonymously, to give encouragement or support to posters.
